The General Secretariat of Muslim World League (MWL) has condemned campaigns of violence and oppression against the Muslims of Sri Lanka.

Muslim World League condemns acts of violence against Muslims in Sri Lanka

Makkah, Sha’ban 24, 1435, Jun 22, 2014, SPA — The General Secretariat of Muslim World League (MWL) has condemned campaigns of violence and oppression against the Muslims of Sri Lanka waged by Buddhist militants against them in the cities of Aluthgama and Berwala in the south of the country.
This came in a statement issued by MWL Secretary General Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulmohsen Al-Turki in which he said that Muslims all over the world have expressed the pain for what has been reported in the media and international news agencies about bloody criminal violations claimed the lives of dozens of innocent Muslims in Sri Lanka, calling on Sri Lankan government to take action to protect Muslims, eliminate oppression against them, stop campaigns launched against them by extremist Buddhist groups, and achieve justice between the components of the people of Sri Lanka.

العالم الإسلامي حملات العنف والاضطهاد ضد مسلمي سريلانكا، التي يشنها بوذيون متشددون من مجموعة “بودوبالا سينا” ضد المسلمين في مدينتي الوشغاما، وبيروالا جنوب البلاد.

وأصدر الأمين العام لرابطة العالم الإسلامي الدكتور عبدالله التركي بيانا قال فيه: إن رابطة العالم الإسلامي والهيئات والمراكز والمؤسسات التابعة لها في أنحاء العالم تتابع بقلق شديد ما يجري من عدوان شرس على المسلمين في جمهورية سريلانكا، ودعا للعمل على إيقاف الظلم الصارخ الذي تستنكفه الفطرة وتحرمه الرسالات الإلهية.

وبحسب صحيفة الوطن أكد التركي أن المسلمين في سريلانكا مواطنون مسالمون يشاركون في تنمية بلادهم ويحرصون على التعايش مع مواطنيهم، والتعاون معهم في خدمة المصالح المشتركة.
