The All Ceylon Makkal Congress (ACMC) welcomed the Supreme Court stay order on the dissolution of Parliament on 13 November.
โThis is a great victory for our democracyโ said the Leader of ACMC Rishad Bathiudeen MP immediately after the verdict on 13 November. Earlier, arriving in the Courts in the afternoon, he said: โWe are confident that justice will be served.โ
ACMC too filed a petition in the Supreme Courts -among the 13 petitioners-against the dissolution of Parliament by HE President Maithripala Sirisena.
